WORKERS from the financial sector paid a visit to a sailing centre to give it a fresh lick of paint.
Eleven staff from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) spent the day at the Ahoy Centre, Borthwich Street, Deptford, as part of its community affairs programme.
The FSA workers, based in Canary Wharf, took the day off from their office jobs to clean and varnish the deck at the sailing charity centre.
The centre gives disadvantaged children the chance to get involved in water sports.
The day was organised by Volunteer Centre Greenwich in Trafalgar Road, which acts as a link between businesses and community groups.
Sue Redford, from Volunteer Centre Greenwich, said: "This team made an effective contribution to a well-used centre.
"They swabbed the decks and painted the boats which lifts the spirits for the users at the centre."
