LITTER louts will be hit with on-the-spot fines as a council adopts new powers to stamp out eyesores.
From next month, anyone who drops litter or allows their dogs to foul public places will be fined up to £80 by Sevenoaks Council.
Under the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act graffiti artists, noisy neighbours or residents failing to put out recycling in the correct bags will also be targeted.
The instant penalties will be issued by council officers and Police Community Support Officers.
If payment is made within 10 days of the fine being issued, charges can be reduced by up to £30.
Sevenoaks Council cabinet member with responsibility for the environment Councillor Felicity Broomby said: "The majority of residents take pride in living in a clean neighbourhood and will welcome these powers."
