THOUSANDS of visitors turned up to experience and take part in the Wallace and Gromit World of Invention Roadshow at Bluewater.
Last weekend visitors were given the opportunity to step into the wonderful world of expert inventor Wallace and his ever faithful sidekick Gromit, as BBC Learning transformed an area of the shopping centre into a life-sized replica of Wallace’s basement inventing studio.
Budding inventors young and old took part in live demonstrations where they learned how to assemble Wallace’s Run About Steam chair and were also able to create their very own models at the clay station and have their photo taken next to Nick Park's famous character.
This leg of the tour is one of six taking place around the country which accompanies the new BBC1 series Wallace and Gromit’s World of Invention.
The six-part factual series sees Wallace and Gromit unveil their favourite inventions from around the world.
Wallace is also asking the British public to unleash their inner inventor and create their own device.
He’s asking budding inventors (complete novices included) to design and build their best contraption, made entirely from bits and pieces around the home.
The winner - chosen by a panel of judges led by Nick Park himself - will be given the once in a lifetime opportunity to have themselves or their contraption immortalised in a future Aardman production.
