A NEW scheme is aiming to banish fears of getting a failed fake tan or terrible tattoo in Bromley.
Bromley Council has launched a Therapist Registration Scheme which means all beauticians, tattoo artists and body piercers will have to be registered by March 2012.
The initiative means these therapists will have to show the council they are fully qualified before they can be registered to work in the borough.
Maria White, a beautician for more than 30 years who works at Frangipani in High Street, Green Street Green, has become the first therapist to be registered under the new scheme.
Head of the councils licensing team Paul Lehane said: “The new scheme ensures customers can have peace of mind they are being looked after by trained professionals.”
