A TEENAGE student has become the first boy to be crowned winner at a London Fashion Week awards event.
A stunned David Short, 17, took to the catwalk on with his model to celebrate winning the FAD Junior Award at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout show on September 20.
The Lewisham College student's emerald green dress won unanimous approval from this year’s industry jury, combining Medieval and Renaissance luxury with Mad Men inspired elegance.
David, who describes himself as “a bit obsessive when it comes to fashion”, beat 23 other young hopefuls from schools and colleges across London and Greater Manchester to take the top prize of a coveted design placement with London-based designers Religion.
Two other finalists from Lewisham College, Naomi Dorton, 18, and Susannah Phillips, 17, also saw their creations showcased on the runway.
