MINIATURE trees helped raise big money for a Northfleet-based hospice for terminally ill patients.
EllenorLions Hospice held an evening in a bonsai garden in Lesley Close, Swanley, and raised £534.00 towards the cost of its care for patients across north Kent and Bexley.
Guests enjoyed canapés and wine in a secluded oriental style garden with mini waterfalls and a pond full of fish, while listening to the music of Recycled Jazz Ltd.
Jessica King, corporate fundraiser for the hospice in Coldharbour Road, said: “The bonsai trees are beautiful, and the knowledge of the bonsai club members who helped at this event was incredible.
“The music was extremely atmospheric, and the garden owners, along with the help of their friends, had prepared and supplied canapés and rosé wine.”
