A PLAY area has re-opened after a £70,000 refurbishment which saw children voting for the equipment they wanted.
Cherry Avenue play area in Swanley was officially re-opened by Sevenoaks District Council's cabinet member with responsibility for playgrounds Councillor Avril Hunter on Tuesday.
Children were asked which improvements they would like to be made to the play area and three designs were then displayed in Swanley Library, so people could vote for their favourite.
The chosen design includes new climbing poles and a large swing, and Cllr Hunter says the new play area “creates a much more pleasant environment for the children of Swanley to play in”.
