AROUND 30 firefighters were called out to a house blaze overnight.
The Fire Brigade was called out at 12.37am to the fire at a home in Methuen Road, Belvedere.
Crews from Erith, Plumstead, Bexley, Sidcup and Woolwich all attended and found the whole front of the house in flames from ground floor to roof.
It was initially believed someone was still inside. Firefighters used a ladder and breathing equipment to check it out before realising it was a false alarm.
The main fire was extinguished by 3.30am.
Around two thirds of the property was destroyed in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
