TWELVE people have taken a step towards football coaching thanks to a club’s community programme.
Charlton Community Trust’s project helped residents of Erith’s Larner Road Estate pass a Football Association Level One coaching course.
The certificate allows football coaches to learn how to effectively manage and coach a local team and develop the skills and techniques of young players.
The programme was developed following funding from Sport England and Orbit South Housing Association.
Orbit community investment officer Gareth Thomas said: "It's gratifying to see so many of our residents achieve the qualification, which has helped two residents gain employment at the trust."
