SEVENTY years have passed since Britain was devasted under a storm of German bombs during the Second World War.
Now Bexley’s local studies and archive centre is anxious to capture local memories of the Blitz before they are gone forever.
It is hosting two reminiscence sessions at the centre in the Central library, Townley Road, Bexleyheath, on September 15 and September 17 from 2.30pm to 4pm.
The centre has a collection of photographs taken of the devastation in Bexley as well as documents and newspaper articles recording the events.
There is also a map illustrating the concentration of bombing on the borough and the locations of unexploded bombs.
Many German bombers ditched their remaining bombs on their way back from bombing their London targets.
Tickets for the event cost £1 and have to be booked in advance from the centre on 020 8836 7369.
