POLICE are appealing for information after a man threatened to set off explosives on a busy train.
The incident happened last Tuesday (August 24) at around 9pm on the 8.47pm Charing Cross to Hayes Southeastern service.
As it travelled between London Bridge and New Cross stations, a man shouted a series of bomb threats towards other passengers in the carriage.
Concerned for their safety, passengers called police and a 43-year-old man from Catford was arrested near to New Cross station in relation to the hoax threats.
He has been bailed to return to a south London police station on September 28.
Investigating officer PC Tim Weekes, from British Transport Police, said: “From our inquiries so far we know that the train was very busy at the time and that this incident could have been witnessed by a large number of people.
“If you were onboard the train at the time, or have any information that can help us piece together what took place before, during and after the incident, then I would like to hear from you.”
