SCHOOLS are being asked to join a London-wide recycling scheme.
There are already 750 schools in the capital signed up to the Support Your School scheme, which aims to get children, parents and communities actively involved in recycling.
The first 500 London schools to register this term will each receive an oak sapling to plant in their grounds.
Participating schools will then receive £1 for every empty inkjet printer cartridge and £3 for every unwanted mobile phone that is collected to be recycled and reused.
The scheme is run by the Environmental Business Products company, which will reuse the products.
