A MOTHER and son hope to raise £6,000 for charity by trekking across Nepal.
Ellis Kerkhoven of Colfe Road, Forest Hill, and his 63-year-old mum Aileen, from Worcester, will be completing the six day challenge from November 20.
Mr Kerkhoven said: “We decided to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society because we lost my Nan to it.
“I’m always up for a challenge and Nepal sounded just the place.”
The 33-year-old added: “I’m pretty fit, but mum is very active and hikes all the time so I think she will be the one dragging me up the mountain.”
They will be walking for up to nine hours a day and camping in temperatures below freezing.
