AN equality forum is just one of the ideas being looked at to enable Bexley Council to widen the scope of its equality policies.
So far, it says it has tended to concentrate race and religion when equality advice and services are provided.
Now it wants to ensure all equality areas such as disability, age, sexual orientation and sexual discrimination are included.
It has launched a consultation with voluntary grouops who represent equality issues, to find out what they think.
Councillor Katie Perrior, cabinet member for community affairs said: "Current services have been in place for some years and times have changed.
"We urge local people to respond to our consultation as we are very keen to hear views from all sections of the community."
The current consultation available at engagespace.co.uk/engage/bexley ends on September 14, but there will be more consultations this month(sept) for interested residents.
