PLANS to modify and reopen a care home are to be discussed.
Dartford Council will meet on September 2 to decide whether to approve an application to build an extension onto The Mount care home in Barn End Lane, Wilmington, which has been closed for the past four years.
If successful, the 18th century property, which has listed status and therefore special protection for design and style, will be reopened as a private nursing and dementia home.
The proposal has been met with three letters of objection, including one from the adjacent nursing home in Emily Court, Barn End, regarding access to and overdevelopment of the site.
The home, previously called Mount Pleasant, was opened in 1970 under Kent County Council before it went under private ownership.
