A PRANKSTER made several hoax emergency calls in the Woolwich area overnight (August 25).
Two fire engines and the police were sent to a block of flats near Woolwich Common at around 9.30pm yesterday after a 999 call which said there was a fire.
A similar call came in around 30 minutes later saying there was another fire in a different block of flats nearby.
Firefighters went to the scene but again found there was no fire.
Both of these false reports took the fire crews around 20 minutes each to deal with.
It is believed the 999 control centre received at least three other calls from the same number.
