A NEW campaign has been launched in London to try and combat the negative image of young people.
The 99 per cent campaign, launched by the London Serious Youth Violence Board, will highlight the fact that, contrary to popular belief, less than one per cent of the capital’s young people have been involved in serious youth violence.
Bexley Council is one of those backing the campaign and deputy leader Councillor Simon Windle said: “All too often we see our young people portrayed in a negative light, but I could talk all day about Bexley’s young people and the amazing contribution they make to the life of the borough.”
He added: “We want to get the message across that the majority of our young people are decent, respectful and well behaved and we are proud to have them in our borough.”
