NEW figures show the borough has one of the lowest rates of sexually transmitted infections in the capital.
According to stats by the Health Protection Agency, 610 out of every 100,000 people in Bromley were last year recorded as having an STI.
The five most common STIs across the capital were gonorrhoea, genital herpes, chlamydia and syphilis.
Other than Bexley, Bromley had the lowest number recorded of all London primary care trusts.
Dr Helen Maguire, an expert in STI trends from the Health Protection Agency, said: “If we are to reduce this trend of poor sexual health in London then people must take responsibility for their own sexual well-being and ensure they use a condom with all new and casual partners.”
