A PERVERT has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a string of sexual and physical attacks, some of which were against children.
Ronald Falvey, aged 49, was jailed at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday (August 23) after being found guilty of 22 charges a week earlier, following a trial.
The court heard Falvey, who now lives in Chatham but has lived in Dartford, Swanscombe and Erith, carried out the attacks on his five victims between 1992 and 2007.
He was convicted of four counts of rape, eight of indecent assault, two of sexual assault, one of indecency with a child, and one of attempted indecency with a child.
The other charges were sexual intercourse with a girl, three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, one of cruelty, and one of false imprisonment.
Judge Jeremy Gold QC also made a sexual offences prevention order banning Falvey from working with children or vulnerable adults for life, and he has been placed on the sex offenders register for life.
A Kent police spokeswoman said she would not reveal which of Falvey’s crimes had been committed against children for fear it would lead to the identification of the victims.
After the sentencing, Detective Constable Nichola Johnson, who led the investigation for Kent police, said: "Falvey continuously subjected his victims to despicable and degrading treatment.
“The victims have remained strong throughout the trial and although this outcome cannot re-build their lives, I hope that it provides them with a satisfactory conclusion."
