SECURITY guards have raised £20,000 for a hospice’s new minibus.
The security team at Lewisham Shopping centre raised the cash through various activities including a bike ride from Eltham to Sittingbourne and tombolas at the centre.
They presented keys to the minibus outside the centre to people from children’s hospice charity Demelza, which has premises in Eltham looking after children with life-limiting illnesses.
A further £18,000 for the bus was raised by the Fantasia Fans company.
Demelza’s community fundraiser James Hunt said: “The support of Lewisham Shopping Centre team and the people of Lewisham has been brilliant over the last two years.”
