ONE secondary school is celebrating the best GCSE results its pupils have acheived in recent years.
At Blackheath Bluecoat Church of England School in Old Dover Road, 40.3 per cent of pupils achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and maths.
This is a 10 per cent improvement on results from last year.
In maths, 52 per cent of students hit a C grade or higher, while in English, the figure was 53 per cent.
Headteacher Barnaby Ash said he was “delighted” with the results.
He said: “Alongside these results, our very pleasing recent Ofsted report shows there is a clear blueprint for further success at Blackheath Bluecoat Church of England School.”
Among the star pupils was Michelle Liu, who acheived 16 A* to C grades, including nine A* and six A grades.
Pupil Dimitri Dolor managed 12 A* to C grades, including six A* and five A grades.
Mr Ash said: “Our warmest congratulations go to all of our Year 11 pupils, parents, carers and staff who today celebrate the results of their hard work.”
