AN EXHIBITION of painting and drawings by artists who took part in mescaline experiments is on show at a psychiatric hospital.
Phantasmagoria, featuring work by British surrealist artists from the 1930s, is currently running at The Bethlem Gallery at Bethlem Royal Hospital in Monks Orchard Road, Beckenham.
Visitors will get the chance to see the results of their hallucinogenic experiments in art form by artists such as Basil Beaumont, Herbrand Williams and Julian Trevelyan.
The exhibition, which runs until September 10, is open between 11am and 6pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
It will also be open during the same hours on September 4.
