YOUNGSTERS and their families have been enjoying a picnic and fun and games organised by a national charity.
The event, in Danson Park, Welling, was School-Home Support’s (SHS) way of celebrating the vital role Bexley parents play in helping their children to learn.
The children enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts activities and well as games at the free event.
Charity chief executive Jan Tallis said the picnic was a chance for parents and children to make new friends and experience being together as a family.
She said SHS’s aim is to ensure parents’ voices were heard in schools and enable parents to support their children and give them a good start in life.
SHS, which has 13 employees working with nearly half of Bexley’s prinmary and secondary schools, says it believes by supporting positive family relationships it can boost the chances of children at school.
