A SINGER dreaming of fame and stardom has sent judges gaga at a national singing competition.

Chloe Williams, of North Road, Dartford has sung her way to the regional finals of Open Mic UK 2010, a national talent competition which searches for the country’s best performers.

Chloe recited an acapella version of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face to a panel of four judges at the audition in Basildon, Essex, which she learnt the lyrics to that morning.

The 18-year-old said: “The song really brought out the tone and individuality in my voice and I think the judges liked that.

”When I was younger, singing professionally was a bit of a far off dream, but now it’s happening.”

The former Miskin Theatre student from North West Kent College will compete against 20 other acts in the regional finals in Brighton in October for a chance to perform at the O2 in London and win a recording contract.

However, the singer, who auditioned for The X Factor when she was 14, said: “It’s not even about getting noticed.

“It’s not about the fame and the glamour for me, I just love performing.”

“It’s such a dog eat dog world in this business but I hope this will help me earn a living doing what I love.”
