A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been fined £1,000 for causing noise nuisance to his neighbours.

Emmanuel Moniz, of John Wilson Street, Woolwich, was also ordered to pay £300 costs to Greenwich Council and a £15 victim surcharge at Woolwich Magistrates’ Court.

He was also ordered to forfeit his music equipment even though he claimed it belonged to someone else.

Moniz was previously fined in April for noise offences at the same property and issued with an abatement notice.

He failed to comply, resulting in the latest fine.

Cabinet member for environment and community safety Councillor Maureen O’Mara said: “Greenwich Council will not tolerate noisy neighbours who make other residents’ lives a misery.”
