A NEWLYWED bride who broke her spine after falling from her hotel balcony in Corfu has arrived back in the UK.
Carrie Anne Dudbridge (nee Freeland) and her husband Michael, of Burnt Ash Lane, Lee, flew back into Biggin Hill Airport yesterday (August 22) by air ambulance.
This flight came after a massive fundraising effort organised by their family which generated the £16,000 needed to bring her home in less than 24 hours.
Mrs Dudbridge fractured her spine in three places on August 15 and while she was able to get medical treatment with her European Health Insurance Card, she did not have the travel insurance necessary to be brought home in a special plane which would allow her to be flown lying down.
She is now being treated in a London hospital.
