GARDENERS with learning disabilities have taken another big step towards getting the skills and confidence they need to get jobs.
Members of Bromley Council’s Thyme Out project work to maintain and develop the gardens at the Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley.
And now they will be helping tenants, who also have learning disabilities, to develop and improve their gardens in their new homes on the old Blue Circle site, Bromley Common.
Portfolio holder for adult and community services Councillor Graham Arthur said: “This is about supporting people with learning disabilities to be as independent as possible.
“Participants will be sharing what they’ve learnt from the project - and these skills will hopefully pave the way to paid employment.”
