POLICE are appealing for information after a 69-year-old Asian woman was mugged for her gold chain.
She was robbed as she walked along Waterloo Street in Gravesend, near the Guru Nanak Day Centre, at around 12.15pm on Wednesday (August 18).
Her attacker, described as a thin black man around 5ft 10in tall and wearing a black hooded top with dark jeans, grabbed her around the neck from behind and gripped her gold necklace.
She fell to the ground while holding onto the piece of jewellery, but the chain snapped and the robber ran away along Wellington Street with part of the necklace.
Kent police would like to speak to a man believed to have witnessed the attack from the Parrock Street junction. He is described as of dark European appearance and in his 30s.
Anyone with information should call Detective Constable Helen King on 01474 366093 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
