LOCAL bands are rallying to the cause of local football club Welling United.
The club owes £90,000 to the taxman and has been threatened with administration.
So far it has been able to hand over £45,000 towards the debt and is now busy trying to raise the rest.
One of the fundraisers planned, is Club Aid 2010 where local bands will be playing a gig for free in the Wings Bar at the club in Park View Road, Welling, on September 24.
Doors open at 7pm.
Nelly’s Heroes, whose members are also big Welling fans, will be headlining, with supporting bands Live Wires and Trigger’s Broom.
Tickets can be bought in advance from Nelly’s Heroes’ website tinyurl.com/ClubAid and at Welling home games or on the door.
