POLICE are warning people to beware of telephone scams.
Residents have reported being called by conmen claiming to from banks, BT and even the Ministry of Justice.
Callers tell their victims they are entitled to a cash prize and try to get people to hand over their bank details and card numbers.
Sometimes the scammer terminates the call mid-way to prove they can cut off the phone line before calling back immediately.
A Bromley police spokesman said: “Should you receive a phone call asking you to make an unsolicited payment or asking you to disclose any personal or financial details, terminate the call immediately.”
