THE Youth Offending Team (YOT) at Bexley Council is looking for volunteers to help support young people to get them into education, training and work.
Anyone aged over 18 can put themselves forward to the team and become a volunteer learning mentor or reading coach.
They will be dealing with young people aged between 11 and 18, either on a one-to-one basis or in group work, to help them overcome difficulties, gain self-confidence and become successful learners.
Cabinet member for education, Councillor Simon Windle said: “This is a real opportunity to get involved with the development of a young person who, for many reasons, may not have had this support in the past.”
