A-LEVEL students across the borough are today celebrating outstanding results.
Pupils at Cator Park School, Lennard Road, Beckenham achieved an overall pass rate of 99 per cent with 75 per cent getting grades A to C.
Headteacher Meryl Davis said: “These results match our best ever A level results and are a further indication of the ongoing success of Cator Park School.”
Bromley High School, Blackbrook Lane, Bickley enjoyed a 100 per cent pass rate with 95.5 per cent getting A to C grades.
Seventy-eight per cent of pupils achieved at least one A* or A grade.
Headteacher Louise Simpson said: “This was a tense year, with the introduction of the A*, we really did not know what effect it would have, but the girls have surpassed our expectations and really risen to the challenge.”
Bishop Challoner School in Bromley Road, Shortlands recorded a pass rate of 95 per cent with more than half getting grades A to C.
At Newstead Wood School for Girls, Avebury Road, Orpington, almost 98 per cent achieved A* to C grades with 19 students set to go to Oxford or Cambridge.
Eleven per cent of pupils scored four A* or A grades.
All students at Farringtons School, Perry Street, Chislehurst passed with 74 per cent getting grades A* to C.
Twenty eight students from St Olave’s Grammar School, Goddington Lane, Orpington, are off to Oxford and Cambridge.
The school recorded 99.5 per cent of pupils achieving grades A* to C with 76 per cent scoring A* and A grades.
Headmaster Tony Jarvis said: “These students and their teachers have worked incredibly hard to achieve these outstanding results which are well deserved.
“This means that out students will go to their chosen universities in a very competitive year.”
Langley Park Girls School in Beckenham had 24 per cent of pupils scoring A* and A grades with an overall pass rate of 96 per cent.
Ten per cent of candidates achieved at least three As.
Hayes School in West Common Road had a pass rate of 99.8 per cent with 81 per cent of candidates getting A to C.
Orpington College, based at The Walnuts, recorded a 94 per cent pass rate with more than half getting grades A to C.
Fourteen per cent achieved at least one A grade.
Charles Darwin School, Jail Lane, Biggin Hill celebrated a 97 per cent pass rate with 28 per cent of results A* or A.
Headteacher Rob Higgins said: “Not only have we kept up our excellent record of value-added across the board, placing Charles Darwin once again amongst the top sixth forms in the country, but we have had some absolutely outstanding individual A-level results.”
