YOUNG people were able to make their cake and eat it when they took part in a cupcake making masterclass.
John Lewis Foodhall at Bluewater hosted the class for members of Fairbridge, a Kent charity for disadvantaged 13 to 25-year-olds, to help them develop confidence and social skills.
John Lewis staff taught the students how to make the perfect cupcake from scratch, and the results were then displayed in the Foodhall to mark its first birthday, before their makers ate them.
Foodhall specialist Laura Cook said: “Leading the cupcake class gave me the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills with the Fairbridge young people, which was great to do.”
