AN 82-YEAR-OLD man remains critically ill in hospital following a car crash in Bromley yesterday (August 17).

The man was driving along Hayes Lane when his blue Ford Ka struck a traffic barrier near Ravensbourne School at around 11am.

He was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, along with his wife who was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash.

She was suffering from shock.

A police spokesman said the man had suffered a cardiac arrest but it is not known whether this happened before the collision or because of it.

Hayes Lane was cordoned off between the junction of Masons Hill and Hayes Road until around 3.30pm yesterday.
