A DRIVER is critically ill after his car hit a traffic barrier in Bromley this morning (August 17).
The man was driving along Hayes Lane when his blue Ford Ka struck the barrier near Ravensbourne School.
He was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, along with his woman passenger, who is thought to be his wife.
She was suffering from shock.
A police spokesman said the man had suffered a cardiac arrest but it is not known whether this happened before the crash or because of it.
Hayes Lane has been cordoned off between the junction of Masons Hill and Hayes Road since the incident took place at around 11am.
