A 43-YEAR-OLD man has been found not guilty of raping a 29-year-old woman.
Norman Robinson, of no fixed address, had denied raping the woman behind a takeaway in Plumstead High Street on January 19.
A jury of four men and eight women cleared the father of rape at the Old Bailey today (August 12) after a three-day trial.
The court heard the woman had drunk seven pints and three shots on the evening of January 18 during a work party in London.
She fell asleep in a taxi on the way home so was driven to Plumstead police station.
A minicab was called to take her home but by the time it arrived she had left.
It was on her way home that she claimed she was raped. She reported the incident two days later to police.
