YOUNG people with a passion for fashion, music or dance are invited to take part in a celebration of black history.
Gravesham Council and BME Concern, a Gravesend charity which encourages racial integration, are holding a Black History Month celebration at Woodville Halls in Windmill Street on October 19.
The event will include a showcase of traditional African fashion and dance and music, and people aged between 11 and 21 are invited to take part, with practice sessions next month.
A council spokeswoman said: “Budding models will be taught to walk the walk by London fashion designer Jessica Odoi before taking centre stage at the event.”
