PEOPLE fasting during a holy month have been offered advice by the NHS.
NHS Greenwich is highlighting the health services available during Ramadan, a muslim festival which began on August 11 and sees participants refraining from eating, drinking and sexual activity.
It says advice is especially relevant for those with conditions like diabetes.
Those on medication should continue to take it and consult their doctor if changing their routine.
The NHS Greenwich Healthy Living Service can give individual advice on healthy eating and physical activity.
NHS Greenwich’s executive director of public health and wellbeing Dr Hilary Guite also warned: “During Ramadan, people should try to make sure that their meals are healthy and balanced. “ For more information call 0800 587 5833 or visit greenwichpct.nhs.uk
