TWO bacon burglars from Hither Green have been prosecuted for stealing £29 worth of the meat from a supermarket in Petts Wood.
Lawrence Misiak, aged 27, and Decklan Paul Garfield Jones, aged 19, both of Verdant Lane, were caught by police after they broke into Iceland in Station Square shortly after midnight on July 26.
The pair, who dropped the bag of bacon as they fled from the police, yesterday pleaded guilty to burglary at Bromley Magistrates’ Court.
While Jones was arrested in the Petts Wood train station car park, Misiak was found less than an hour later hiding in a garden in Little Thrift.
Magistrates sentenced Misiak to 20 days in prison and gave Jones a 12-month conditional discharge.
