A STUDENT who beat up a minicab driver and dragged him from his vehicle at gunpoint before stealing it has been jailed.
David Sieni, aged 23, from Roehampton, was sentenced to 13 years in prison after he was found guilty of robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent following a six-day trial at Croydon Crown Court.
The court heard in December last year Sieni requested a minicab to take him to Crystal Palace.
When the car arrived in Charleville Circus, Anerley, another man was waiting and Sieni threatened the driver with a gun.
Sieni punched him several times and stole cash and a mobile phone before fleeing in the minicab with his accomplice, who police are still hunting.
The victim suffered head and facial injuries.
