A DATE for trial has been set for a former parliamentary candidate charged with drink-driving.
Kathryn Smith, who was Labour candidate for Gravesham at the general election, will appear at a preliminary hearing on October 20 before facing trial on January 6 at Dartford Magistrates’ Court.
She denied the charge at a previous hearing on July 27.
Smith, a former director of the Co-operative Bank, lost to Conservative Adam Holloway by 9,312 votes at the election on May 6.
