SUPERMARKET staff dressed up as Hawaiians to raise money for their chosen charity of the year.
Fifteen colleagues at Sainsbury’s in Beckenham High Street came to work wearing multi-coloured attire ranging from grass skirts to flowers in their hair.
A total of £650 was raised for St Christopher’s Hospice in Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham, thanks to the generosity of customers.
People took part in a sweepstake to win £100 while members of staff held shaker buckets for shoppers to make donations.
The store’s PA ambassador Tracy Sketchley said: “It was a very colourful weekend. Even some of the guys wore skirts.
“Customers thought our attire was quite comical.”
