IN A departure from its usual environmental events, Friends of Foots Cray Meadows hosted its first fun dog show.
Held in the meadows, more than 100 dog owners and their pooches turned out to compete in a variety of classes from dog most like its owner, to cutest pup.
Organisations, including Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, RSPB, Froglife, Bexley Civic Society and local dog grooming and training companies, had stalls at the event.
As well as protecting and caring for the meadows, the Friends also want to encourage local people to use them and care for the wildlife.
The show was so successful, the Friends now hope to make it an annual event and use it as a means to build a relationship with local residents and those who use the meadows.
