DISABLED and older people will soon have a greater say in how a council spends money on the services they need.
The new scheme, Choice and Control, is currently being piloted by Greenwich Council.
It is part of government proposals to change the way social care is provided.
Usually the council decides what level of support people need and then provides the services.
But the new optional scheme will enable people to have a budget, which they can manage themselves or have someone manage for them.
More than 100 people across Greenwich are taking part in the pilot.
If successful it will be more widely available by April next year.
