BUDDING archaeologists are being invited to take part in a dig of a 17th century keepers cottage or lodge.
The Royal Parks and English Heritage is hosting the project at Greenwich Park from September 6 until 12.
Results of the field work will be recorded, analysed and published in an archaeological journal.
Any finds will be offered to the Greenwich Museum or the Museum of London.
Greenwich Park manager Graham Dear, said: “This is a great way for people to learn about the history of the park and discover more about archaeology at the same time.”
Participants are advised to wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear, and if possible to bring their own trowel, small hand-brush, hand-shovel and bucket.
