A MAN wanted for assault has been arrested in a random police road check.
Kent police set up a check point with traffic officers, a motorbike unit and the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency in Ordnance Road, Gravesend, to check the speed and behaviour of drivers in the town centre.
A total of 23 drivers were stopped at random, including a man who was wanted in connection with an assault.
Another vehicle was seized as the driver had no licence or insurance.
PC Steve Ridley, from North Kent’s traffic management unit, said: “The aim of the road check is to inspect vehicles, drivers and paperwork and check that no crimes are being committed and that vehicles are roadworthy.”
