A GROUP of people with learning disabilities has been working on a project to help ambulance crews learn how to deal with patients with similar disabilities.
Respect in Bexley has been fliming at Bexley Mencap’s headquarters in Church Road, Bexleyheath, for a training DVD it is putting together for the London Ambulance Service.
Group members have been using their own personal experiences to produce the DVD which is designed to help crews across London, when they are called out to treat someone with learning disabilities.
Respect in Bexley, which has around 30 members, is a self-advocacy group speaking up for people with learning disabilities and helping others to understand their needs and views.
