THE Palace of Westminster is not the only place where Members of Parliament have been celebrating the start of the summer break.
Members of Bexley’s Children’s Parliament have been looking back at their successes over the past year at a celebration party.
The event, at Welling Youth Centre in Lovel Avenue, also saw the presentation of achievement awards.
Youngsters aged between eight and 13 were rewarded for their work in producing a DVD about bullying and a children’s healthy cookbook as well as achievements in kayaking and making bird and bat boxes.
Following the awards there was a buffet and karaoke disco party.
The Parliament currently has 50 members with more vacancies created as older members move onto the borough’s Youth Council.
