A RETIRED men’s club celebrated its 64th anniversary with a mixture of events.
A trip out to Broadstairs was among the entertainment enjoyed by members of the Beckenham Retired Men’s Club, which has around 40 members aged from 60 to 90.
A yard sale raised around £70 for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association followed by a celebratory tea with music by pianist Victoria Snelgrove.
The club, which was formed by ex-servicemen following the Second World War, meets every Thursday between 1 and 5pm at Azelia Hall in Croydon Road, Beckenham.
Honorary secretary Bill Mason said: “We look at other clubs and realise we must be one of the oldest of its kind in the borough.”
