A GOLDEN bolt has been fastened into the steel structure of a £60m events venue being built at Bluewater.
In a ceremony to promote the 5,200 square metre Bluewater Events Venue, Mayor of Dartford Councillor Pat Coleman joined the shopping centre’s chiefs to place the bolt.
The piece of gold will remain permanently in the steel structure of the venue, which is being developed by Lend Lease and will host leisure and retail events from the end of next year.
Bluewater’s general manager Andrew Parkinson said: “We are very proud to see the Bluewater Events Venue beginning to take shape.”
The development is centred around a 3,000 square metre plaza and includes 4,000 square metres of restaurant space, and will create 100 permanent jobs as well as the 600 generated by construction.
